Phalaenopsis (Doritis) pulcherrima var. chumpornensis ' X self
Native to Southeast Asia- India, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo, and the Himalayan mountains of China, this hot to warm growing SPECIES orchid can be found growing as a lithophyte or terrestrial orchid in sandy soils. Found in evergreen, lowland forests along canyons of streams and rivers in bright and very humid environments, this short "mini-phalaenopsis" produces many brightly colored, pink one and a half inch flowers on a tall upright inflorescence.
This particular form of Doritis was named after the peloric forms found in the Thai province of Chumporn, hence the name chumpornensis. A lovely, delicate addition for any collection!
